Joe Biden Clinches Democratic Presidential Nomination

According to CBS News, Former Vice President Joe Biden has officially clinched the Democratic Party nomination for President of the United States. The news came late Friday after Biden secured the 1,911 delegates necessary for the nomination after votes came in from Tuesday’s primaries. Biden wrote in his victor’s statement that it was an “honor” to compete for the nomination against “one of the most talented groups of candidates the Democratic party has ever fielded — and I am proud to say that we are going into this general election a united party.”
