EMG (@theboyemg) – “Bad Girls”

R&B singer and multi-instrumentalist Evan Michael Green AKA EMG has released his highly anticipated visual for the track Bad Girls.”

Following up his introspective single “New Identity” which was be featured on Apple’s Beats 1 Radio show E-Bro in the Morning on November 27th,  EMG transitions to a sexy record that’s finding its way to the playlists of his largely female fanbase.

“I like to keep people on their toes about who I am as an artist. There’s a huge contrast both musically and lyrically between New Identity and Bad Girls. Depending on which one you hear first, you may be tempted to typecast me as one type of artist,” EMG said. “My favorite part of playing my songs is seeing the live reaction when all of the music collides with drums, vocals, synths, etc. “

The process for creating this song took even nearly 10 years, as he wrote about the song on and off infusing conversations with his grandfather about women and the Greek classic Homer’s Odyssey

Bad Girls has been a song 10 years in the making both musically and lyrically. The lyrics were inspired by two things. My grandfather actually had this exact conversation with me about females and the dangers a pretty face can hide when I was very young. It has stuck with me all of these years even after his passing,” EMG said, “He was the type of man to teach us life lessons through his storytelling and now that I’m a man myself, I can finally understand what he was trying to instill in us. The other parts of the song are inspired by Greek mythology and Homer’s Odyssey.”

Proud of the overall dramatic production for this visual, EMG says this is his best work yet.

“All my fans know me for my dramatic productions and this is by far the best thing we’ve done and I couldn’t be more excited. I would like to shoutout everyone at my label 1067 for getting all of this together. Special thanks to my creative director Meg Vee, my videographer Charlie Ehrman, and my manager Bhrama Bull.

In addition to the music, EMG is participating in the Splice Remix contest for his song “Bad Girls.”  For the contest Splice partnered with SUBPAC, who recently sponsored Cardi B.  The SUBPAC consists of a combination of tactile transducers, vibro-tactile membranes, electronics and textiles, designed to deliver a physical dimension of sound. SubPac is available in a wearable and seatback format.
