Dave Chappelle Asks Fans To Boycott ‘Chappelle’s Show’ Until ViacomCBS Pays Him

Dave Chappelle is making it clear that he is not playing about his coins, y’all! In his recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, Dave said that he did not approve of ViacomCBS licensing Chappelle’s Showwithout paying him, and he is now asking his fans to boycott the show all together.

Dave took to Instagram in a video he titled ‘Unforgiven’ to speak about his feeling of discomfort in regard to Viacom, and says that he asked Netflix to remove Chappelle’s Show from its platform. Netflix removed the show on Monday night to honor his request. Unfortunately, Dave’s show is still streaming on HBO Max, and Viacom is not trying to give him a dime.

“People think I made a lot of money from Chappelle’s Show,” he says in the video. “When I left that show I never got paid. They (ViacomCBS) didn’t have to pay me because I signed the contract. But is that right? I found out that these people were streaming my work and they never had to ask me or they never have to tell me.”

“So I’m not going to the agents, I’m coming to my real boss–I’m coming to you. I’m begging you–if you ever liked me, if you ever think there was anything worthwhile about me, I’m begging you, please don’t watch that show. I’m not asking you to boycott any network–boycott me. Boycott Chappelle’s Show. Do not watch it unless they pay me.”
