Hip-hop mogul and entrepreneur Master P is making headlines once again — this time in the sports world. The No Limit Records founder has expressed strong interest in becoming the next head coach for Arizona State Sun Devils men’s basketball.

Currently serving as President of Basketball Operations at the University of New Orleans, Master P has already made a noticeable impact by helping turn around a struggling program. Under his leadership, the team improved from a 4–27 record to a more competitive 15–18 season — showcasing his ability to lead and rebuild. 

From Music Mogul to Basketball Leader

While widely known for his success in music and business, Master P has long-standing ties to basketball. He previously played at a competitive level and has coached elite AAU talent, including future NBA stars like DeMar DeRozan and Brandon Jennings. 

His coaching philosophy goes beyond the game — focusing heavily on financial literacy, personal development, and preparing athletes for life beyond sports. With the rise of NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deals, Master P emphasizes teaching young athletes how to manage wealth and build generational success.
