Fashion Leader Elyce Arons Honored at LIM College 2026 Commencement
Elyce Arons, celebrated fashion entrepreneur and co-founder of the iconic Kate Spade brand, has been named keynote speaker for the LIM College Class of 2026 Commencement Ceremony. Arons will also be awarded an honorary Doctor of Commercial Science degree and the college’s Distinguished Achievement Award during the ceremony, scheduled for May 17, 2026 at David Geffen Hall — Lincoln Center in New York City.
With more than three decades in the fashion world, Arons first rose to prominence alongside best friend Kate Spade when they launched the now-legendary Kate Spade New York brand in 1993. Under her leadership and creative vision, the label became a symbol of modern style and joyful design.
A Legacy of Innovation and Mentorship in Fashion
After their success with Kate Spade, Arons and Spade — along with Andy Spade — co-founded Frances Valentine in 2016, a lifestyle and accessories brand known for timeless pieces that celebrate individuality and optimism. Today, Arons serves as CEO of Frances Valentine, continuing her legacy of creative leadership and brand impact.
Arons is also a member of the LIM Fashion Education Foundation Board, which supports scholarships and learning opportunities for students pursuing careers in fashion and business — reinforcing her commitment to cultivating the next generation of industry talent.
